Personalized Mindfulness

This is an opportunity to collaborate on a guided Take a Breath recording, using the BRAVE methodology to create a new response to an old, difficult pattern or reaction.  This ‘River Raft Journey’ (or choose a journey such as; Seaside Journey or Planet Journey) is designed to address an area of stress, or struggle that you are challenged with on a regular basis. This is a private, personal exploration.  It may be difficult to explore this area, but recognize the ultimate benefit of this practice.  Whether you are aware or not you have a resistance built in the mind around this issue.  That is a normal response to a triggering event.  That resistance can take many forms ( breathing issues, physical issues, mental/emotional issues).   What you will experience in this exploration is coming into a deep relaxation state (Alpha brainwaves state- your relaxation response), and then moving ‘past’ this challenging area, while remaining deeply relaxed and balanced.  Ultimately, this creates a new response to this area, a new brain map.

 

To accomplish this recording, which we will create for you, we are requesting 3 separate scripts from you, from those we create the final recording.  The final recording includes an entry into a deep relaxing, non-reactive state, as mentioned above.  Then we have the ability to explore the script content you provide.  Here are the 3 components we are asking you to provide;

 

Script #1-               A great day from your memory relative to the issue-  So the people places and things of that era/time/environment.  Write down as many sensory details as you can provide.  You might even close your eyes and get a sense

of what that day looked like, felt like, sounded like, who or what was there, even the smells, even a taste-if there was a favorite meal from that stage of life.  It does not have to be perfect, some details may not be 100 % factual (it can be an imaginary day, put together from multiple memories/senses) or accurate, and that is ok.  If it comes to you in your remembering or visioning,  and you feel it is a part of the story, add it in.

 

 

Script #2-               A really bad day from your memory with the issue.  Again, as many sensory details as you can recall.  You might even close your eyes and get a sense of what that day looked like, felt like, sounded like, who or what was there, even the smells, even a taste-  this part of the scripting can be tough, so give yourself some time, even a couple of tries to write it out.  The process of writing itself can be powerful.  This is a conscious visit of this tough day, and it makes sense you may be triggered and upset.  Remain objective, you are simply writing out the facts the best you can remember them.  Again, it does not have to be perfect, some details may not be 100 % factual or accurate, and that is ok.  If it comes to you in your remembering or visioning,  and you feel it is a part of the story, add it in.

 

Script #3-               Finally, please work on a future intention/vision/empowerment.  See yourself in a new way with people places or things, maybe the vision includes;  comfort, safety, and reliability.   Pick a few things and fill in a vision, again with as many details as possible, all the senses; what it would look like sound like, feel like smell, and even taste.  As much sensory information as you can provide helps build the new brain map.  See it as a day of empowerment and possibility. Free from the patterns, and restrictions of the past, when you had to manage the original issue.  Feeling the changes from moving beyond the old habit/patterns and reactions. They are integrated, and this is a new day, in the new form, now in a transformed higher state, free from the burdens of the old patterns…

 

 

Once we have completed the scripted recording and sent it back to you, we recommend you give yourself some privacy and some time to explore this ‘journey’.  We have some instructions to support your listening when we send the recording.

 

For some, you may want to begin with an easier issue, before scripting a major issue.  (This may be apparent if you are writing out the script, and recalling the memories and sense information is overwhelming you). 

 

In that case, you could visit our library and select a general BRAVE recording, or even a more specific issue from the conditions list.  It will give you a chance to address an issue you wanted to ‘try out’ first, to get a feel for the experience of BRAVE, before moving on to the deeper issue.  When you feel ready to script and record the next Personalized Mindfulness recording, we are ready for you!
